Current Show ~ My Sister’s Gallery March 15, 2007

My friend, Tracie White-Doerner and I are so excited to have a new show together to share with all of you. We have been invited to have a two month show at My Sister’s Gallery at The Episcopal Church Home at 505 Mt. Hope Avenue, just south of the Ford Street bridge. It is a wonderful space that accommodated our work so well.

Our opening is March 27, 2006 from 4:30 – 6pm, which, we’ve been told, is beloved by the residents and also by the Episcopal Home’s employees, not to mention the viewing public that regularly attends. Tracie and I are looking forward to seeing all of you there!

I also have a new piece you may want to check out below here and on the watercolor page. It is of a long archway in Greece at dusk. The minute I saw the picture, again taken by my wonderful dermatologist, Dr. Walter Brooks on one of his international trips, I knew I wanted to paint it. It was such a meaningful depiction of how I view things, such as living on a higher plane and always trying to achieve spiritual enlightenment ~ something my husband always says is way too deep for him. I listen to Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer quite frequently and am always touched by their teachings. I try to communicate my own spirituality through my work and I hope it touches others, as well.

My next painting is also another picture taken by my dermatologist. It is a beautiful composition of just hands praying at a church rail in front of lit candles.
It was so representational of what it is I am trying to achieve with my paintings, I just couldn’t pass it up. I am also trying to work on a collage for a show deadline due next week (yep, that’s me ~ best under pressure!) for the Memorial Art Gallery’s Finger Lakes Art Exhibition; a wonderful show put on bi-yearly for area artists and is very competitive. I’m hoping I get in (send positive thoughts my way, please!!).

Tracie and I are still working on our marketing and show entry persistence (not to mention, organization! I want a secretary!!). We are doing quite well so far and are really proud that we have kept up with it and still encourage each other daily. It’s really inspired us!

Hope to see all of you at the opening! Have a great week!!
