Tropical Sunset
18x24 Oil on Linen
When I was in elementary, I loved everything about art. The small wooden easels, the smocks, gathering my supplies. Mostly, the smell of the powdered Tempura paint. Now, i use oil paints, acrylics, mica dyed resins, graphite and colored pencils. To name just a few.
Now, it's a rare and cherished day if I'm lucky enough to catch that smell

Now, it's a rare and cherished day if I'm lucky enough to catch that smell in the air. And be transported back to my childhood art room.
I was an art major all through high school. Upon entering college, I thought I was being lead down a different path. So I studied Environmental Science. While attending, I met someone and married. Kids came shortly afterwards and all forms of creating took a backseat to child rearing. So fast forward a little over a decade. Children older, imminent divorce and I started painting again. Enrolled in the local University to brush up on some skills. But I think I'm more self-taught than anything else.
So that's the basics about me. Thank you so very much for taking out the time to find out about my journey.
I use many different mediums, such as oils, acrylics, and pastels. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. And each project can be vastly different. I paint, draw, photograph, sculpt, pour, cast, and throw (clay). But painting and drawing are my favorites.
I enjoy hiking in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these hikes in nature. I love recreating the vista's I've seen while hiking. Other sources of inspiration are my cats and my granddaughter. Though the cats usually inspire abstract works.
but that could change .
Commission pieces are available and require a 50% deposit. Details to be discussed if interested. *Please note, currently.....
I'm NOT doing any portraits or portraiture of any kind, including pets.
I WILL paint...Any type of landscape....land, sea, city, still life's and abstracts.
I'm working on starting up a Paint and Sip at home program. Geared more towards smaller gatherings. As well as one on one appointments.
So please check back often.
